Orleans, Calif. -- I'm not a fantastic fisherman. In fact, I haven't been fishing too many times in my life. On this day in the fall of 2008, I went with a few friends out on the Trinity river for an afternoon of angling. They were much more accomplished fly fishermen, and I was casting away with a standard pole and reel. It was a beautiful sight, with smoke filling the sky in the background from a perscribed burn, the sun setting with light darting through the canyon, and an array of wildlife. The funny part, was that I caught 5 trout. My friends didn't catch any. Beginner's luck?
